You may be looking to hire a car in the near future but are unsure of all of the procedures involved. There are a number of things to consider when it comes to vehicle pick up procedures to guarantee that you are fully prepared. To ensure that there are no surprises, we have put together this blog so that you know everything there is to know, relating to picking up your hire car, well in advance.

What Do You Need?

In order to successfully pick up your vehicle, you will need to have provided a member of our team with a number of things to ensure your eligibility. You will need to make sure that you bring your full UK driving license, either the photo card or the old paper style one. However, if you only have the paper style license, you will be required to bring another form of photo ID too. As well as your license, you will need to inform us of your National Insurance Number so that we are able to complete a DVLA check. Another form of ID will also be required such as a utility bill.

Where Do You Collect Your Vehicle From?

All of our hire vehicles are collected by our customers at our offices. We are located at Unit 17 Riverside Industrial Estate, Ampere Road, Newbury, Berks, RG14 2DQ. A member of our expert team will be there to greet you once you arrive, and they will provide you with everything you need for your vehicle hire.

Can You Deliver And Collect To My Location?

If you would prefer to have your vehicle delivered to you, rather than having to travel to our office, we offer a delivery and collection service. The service will be available to you if you live within a 10-mile radius of our office. It is also important to note that there is a charge of £7.50 for either collection or delivery.

Can Vehicles Be Left At Your Office?

If you are driving your own vehicle to our offices, unfortunately, you will be unable to leave it on our premises for the duration of your hire period. However, there is on-road parking in the vicinity, which a member of our team can direct you to. It is important to note that if you do choose to leave your own vehicle close to our office, it is completely at your own risk.

Payments You’ll Make At The Counter

We require a £200 deposit which is taken by credit or debit card at the time of the booking and then refunded upon the return of the vehicle. Full payment for your hire period will also be taken at the time of your booking. It is important to note that if you wish to extend your hire period, you will need to contact a member of our team in advance of your scheduled return time.

Opting For Extras

You will also be given the option to add on any extras to your hire. The extras we offer include delivery/collection, as previously mentioned. You can add an additional driver from £6 per day to £22 per week, a sat nav is an optional extra, available for £10 per day or £35 per week and we offer child seats for £5 per day or £28 per week.

Signing The Rental Agreement And Getting The Key

It is important to note that you should not feel at all rushed into signing the rental agreement. Make sure you read the documents thoroughly before signing to ensure that you are aware of all of the terms and conditions. After this, it is important to make sure that you keep the documents that our staff will provide you with, for your own reference. Once the agreement has been signed, you will be given the keys to your hire car. Make sure you look over the car you have been given so that you are confident of the condition it is in. If you notice any issues, inform a member of the team before driving away to avoid any discrepancies.
